Fanwood Honors Flintlocks, Step Dancer, Event Planner and Photographer

FANWOOD, NJ -- Mayor Colleen Mahr and the Fanwood Borough Council named the Flintlocks, a group of volunteers who mentor local Boy Scouts and donate their time to various projects in town, as Volunteers of the Month at the council meeting on Tuesday, August 19. Representing the group were Robert Germinder, 83, Ted Marquadt, 72, Joe Schott, 92, and founder Allan Ebersole, 91, who each received  a commemorative print of the historic Fanwood Train Station from Mayor Colleen Mahr.

The mayor and council also recognized SPFHS honor student Kelsey O'Connor, who is also a champion Irish dancer, with a special Achievement Award.  Emily Howarth was honored by Mayor Mahr and Police Chief Richard Trigo for organizing, planning and implementing Fanwood's 2014 Night Out earlier this month.  Greg Cummings, former Planning Board Chairman, was recognized for winning first place in the Union County Senior Art Contest photography category.
