Fanfest was inspired by Principal Hayden Moore's Partnership In Pride effort and is sponsored by the WOHS PTA. Monty the Mountaineer, the high school's mascot, will be back to encourage team spirit in the West Orange community.

“It’s a team effort to make great things happen at West Orange High School,” said Principal Moore. “The parents and teachers of the West Orange High School PTA are always there for our students to make the extra special happen.”

The annual Fall Pep Rally on Friday, September 12 at 7:00 pm in Tarnoff Gymnasium will kick off Fanfest weekend as students, athletes, families, staff and community members gather to enjoy some "fan-tastic" spirit building activities. The entire West Orange is welcome to attend the pep rally which will also feature SEC Champs, the WOHS Cheerleaders.

Fanfest continues on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 4:00 in Suriano Stadium with activities, games and contests for children and teens sponsored by West Orange High School clubs, booster groups, community and service organizations, and more. The award-winning WOHS Step team will awe the crowd and the WOHS Cheerleaders will make a second appearance. WOHS Spirit Wear and club wear will be available for purchase.

At 7:00 pm, the Mountaineer Football Team will open their season v. Wayne Valley under the lights at Suriano Stadium. A special ceremony honoring former alumni with unbroken records will be held, and the award-winning WOHS Marching Band will debut their new fall routine. Tickets for the game are $4.00 and can be purchased at the ticket window.

“The second annual Fan Fest Weekend will see our Partnership in Pride program take off like a rocket again this year”, said Principal Hayden Moore.  “Our 2014-2015 academic year is off to a great start.”
