Fairview Lake YMCA Camps, located at 1035 Fairview Lake Rd. in Stillwater, would like to invite parents and children interested in sleepaway camp to attend their Open House on Sunday April 3rd from 2:00-4:00 p.m. The friendly and experienced Fairview Lake YMCA staff members look forward to meeting families, providing tours of the beautiful camp and answering questions.
“Our sleepaway camp is dedicated to providing an enjoyable summer experience for our campers. From swimming and sailing to horseback riding and arts & crafts - campers at Fairview Lake YMCA have tons of fun activities to choose from and keep them busy all summer long” said Bob Kahle, Executive Director of Fairview Lake YMCA Camps.
Fairview Lake YMCA Camps offer a variety of fun and exciting summer sleepaway camp programs for children entering grades 2 - 11. Campers can choose a traditional summer camp experience or a specialty camp program, which allows campers to focus on one specific area of interest such as sailing, windsurfing, horseback riding, tennis and much more.
Fairview Lake YMCA’s exciting Environmental Trips for Challenge (ETC) programs provide a selection of adventure trips. Campers entering grades 4-11 explore the natural world by hiking, biking, climbing or canoeing depending on the program they register for. ‘Intro to Adventure’, ‘Rocks, Rivers & Reels’ are just a couple of the favorite programs where campers can learn new skills and challenge themselves in a supportive environment. ETC Service Corps provide older campers the opportunity to partake in service projects that have a positive impact on the environment.
Fairview Lake YMCA’s Ranch Camp offers children with a love and passion for horses and riding the opportunity to become fully immersed in their favorite pastime. Daily riding lessons are taught by our experienced instructors and campers are encouraged to improve existing skills while learning new ones. During instructional sessions campers are grouped according to riding ability but a great staff to camper ratio enables each child to learn at their own pace and receive individual attention. Trail rides exploring 660 acres of Fairview Lake’s pristine property are enjoyed each day. Campers also have daily responsibilities - taking care of the horses to ensure they have a clean and healthy environment and learning important horsemanship skills such as how to tack and saddle, groom and feed. While there is a clear program focus for ranch camp, campers also have the opportunity to enjoy swimming in the lake each day and participate in traditional camp activities.
Regardless of what camp program a child chooses, parents can rest assured that their children are in good hands. The Fairview Lake YMCA is accredited by the American Camp Association and licensed by the state of New Jersey. Fairview Lake YMCA Camps also offer programs for families, environmental education for school groups and hosts scout groups, family reunions, religious retreats and conferences throughout the year.
If you are unable to make it to the April 3rd Open House or would simply like to visit Fairview Lake YMCA Camps at a different time, please call Camp Director, Marc Koch. He would love to share his passion for Fairview Lake with you.
