Fairfield Police Detective Robert Sanger Investigating Fairfield Bagel Bakery Burglary

FAIRFIELD, NJ - Earlier today, the Fairfield Police Chief, Charles Voelker, released a public statement that the Department is actively investigating a burglary that took place at the Fairfield Bagel Bakery, located at 397 Route 46 West, in Fairfield. The investigation is being conducted by Detective Robert Sanger.

The robbery occurred sometime between yesterday at 3pm when the store was closed, and early this morning when store employees arrived for work at 3am and discovered the break-in.

Apparently, an individual or individuals gained access to the store by climbing onto the roof and then going down a vent shaft which is located above the grill. The person(s) then stole about $700 in cash, along with the digital video recorder which is used for the store’s security system.  

The police are asking that anyone with any information contact the Department’s Investigative Division at (973) 227-1400. All information will be kept confidential.
