Fairfield Council Addresses Adding Stop Signs at Designated Intersections

FAIRFIELD, NJ - Public works issues were addressed at Tuesday night's meeting of the Fairfield Township Council, including the addition of several new stop signs at designated intersections in the township.

An amendment was made to the “Written Hazard Communication Program” and the authorization to purchase needed equipment for the water department to make repairs were approved. There was also a job title and grade change for Thomas Hubay.

Concerning the Engineering Department, a contract was awarded to U.S. Tank Painting, Inc. for the Mill Street Water Storage Tank Rehabilitation Project in the amount of $669,769.

An award of professional service contract and execution of a disclosure dissemination agent agreement between the Township of Fairfield and DAC Bond was made in addition to the resolution of the Township of Fairfield directing the undertaking of a continuing disclosure review and authorizing the participation in the municipalities continuing disclosure cooperation initiative of the Division of Enforcement of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Approval was granted to Alexander R. Collin for his township Fire Department application and Frank J. Cusano was authorized to move from junior firefighter to probationary firefighter.

Raffle licenses to both the Fairfield Falcon Cheerleading Booster Team and the Save The Animals Rescue Team were approved.

The Police Department was authorized to promote both Raymond Puluse and Jeffrey Dean from probationary status to permanent police officers.

In the Recreation Department, there was authorization to hire additional staffing for the summer camp and municipal pool for the 2014 season as well as the authorization to hire Truclean for work relating to the municipal pool complex in the amount of $800.

An amendment to Chapter VII of the Township of Fairfield will add stop signs at designated intersections and an ordinance accepting the land donation of Block 4202 Lot 31, Block 4204, Lot 30, Block 4204 Lot 32, Block 4204 Lot 29, Block 4204 Lot 33, Block 4204 Lot 28, Block 4204 Lot 34 Block 4204 Lot 27, Block 4204 Lot 24, Block 3603 Lot 4 Form FieldFair Corp.

For the reading and public hearing of ordinances, #2014-03, Amending Chapter 18-2.4 of the Code of the Township of Fairfield regarding water service charges and #2014-09, Bond Ordinance providing for an appropriation of $750,000 for various capital improvements and purposed for and by the Township of Fairfield and authorizing the issuance of $712,500 bonds or notes of the Township for financing part of the appropriation.
