“Our goal in continuing education is to help people learn new skills that they can immediately apply to their personal and professional use,” notes Dr. Nancy Low-Hogan, Dean of Continuing Education and Professional Studies. “Seton Hall’s Fall certificate programs are designed to give professionals from all industries the opportunity to increase their marketability in the workplace or to explore something new.”

Certificate in Business Communications: Earn a certificate in Business Communications by taking any three courses from the following: Business Etiquette for Professionals, Grammar Workshop for Professionals, Business & Professional Writing, Public Speaking for Meetings & Presentations, Strategic Leadership & Influencing. Social Media for Professionals: Unlimited Potential: Learn to build, design and track various social media platforms and understand how they can work to enhance your web presence - both personally and professionally. You will gain simple techniques to leverage vast, interconnected web communities and widen your sphere of influence. This program is taught by experienced social media experts through five 3-hour sessions on Saturdays beginning in September. Register for one session or register for all five sessions to receive special pricing! Classes are held on Saturdays from 9:30am-12:30pm: 9/21, 9/28, 10/5, 10/12, 10/19. $150 per session or $500 for all 5 sessions.

Certificate in Computational Thinking: Learn how to solve complex problems faster, easier and more efficiently using digital tools in just three days. Seton Hall University is the only university in the tri-state area offering an introductory course in Computational Thinking, a new discipline that indicates a paradigm shift in problem solving, moving it from an instinctive process into the realm of conscious thought. Topics covered include problem analysis, representations, and implementation and testing of variables. If you have complex problems, then our Certificate in Computational Thinking is for you. If you’re working as a computer programmer or as a scientist in any discipline, this program will help you to enhance your performance. ABOUT SETON HALL UNIVERSITY

One of the country’s leading Catholic universities, Seton Hall University has been a catalyst for leadership — developing students in mind, heart and spirit — since 1856.  With more than 60 rigorous academic programs, and schools singled out for distinction by The Princeton Review, US News & World Report and Bloomberg Businessweek, Seton Hall exemplifies academic excellence.  A student-to-faculty ratio of 14:1 and an average class size of 20 provide a truly supportive educational environment; students enjoy hands-on guidance from a world-class faculty that includes Fulbright scholars, leading researchers, industry leaders, and former ambassadors. Dozens of Seton Hall students have been chosen for highly selective national and international awards in recent years, including Rhodes, Fulbright, Pickering, and Udall scholarships.

Seton Hall offers superior opportunities for career development before and after graduation. More than 75 percent of students participate in an internship, practicum or clinical program to gain professional experience; the university also boasts a career-related job placement rate 10 to 15 percent above the national average and an international alumni network more than 70,000 strong.

The university combines the resources of a large university with the personal attention of a small liberal arts college. Its attractive suburban campus is only 14 miles by train, bus or car to New York City, with the wealth of employment, internship, cultural and entertainment opportunities the city offers.
