Don’t Lose Weight to be Healthy, Rather Eat Healthy to Lose Weight! is the name of the one-night class that Sharon Goldner, Certified Health Counselor and Professional Chef, is offering at the Westfield Adult School on Monday, March 18.   “I was inspired to teach this class because I perceive that many people’s understanding of weight loss and eating is backwards, ”  Ms. Goldner explained.  Similar to what she advises her clients,  this class will provide a framework for creating a diet for life that will not only support weight loss, but improve one’s energy, digestion, sleep, and other discomforts.

Students will learn safe and easy ways to improve one’s diet without feeling deprived, and will get many new ideas for healthy snacks and meals.  And to prove a point, at all of her wellness presentations, Ms. Goldner brings nutrient-dense , high-fiber snacks for the participants to sample in order to experience that healthy food can taste good.   “If dieting for weight loss or other goals has failed in the past, this class will give the participants a whole new way of thinking about their food choices, and help them create a recipe for a healthy life.”

To register for this class, one may call the Westfield Adult School at 908-232-4050 or arrive early and go to the Main office at the Westfield High School.  Monday, March 18, 7:00-8:15 pm. Cost is $18. The class will be held in Room 154 at the Westfield High School, 550 Dorian Rd., Westfield.  Sharon Goldner’s health counseling practice, Recipe for a Healthy Life is located in downtown Fanwood at 36 S. Martine Ave, 2nd Floor.  To learn more please visit the website:  www.recipeforahealthylife.com.
