Donate Toys to Furniture Assist and Help Families in Need

Furniture Assist, Inc.

Tuesday, November 19, 2013 • 12:50pm

Furniture Assist, Inc., has run out of toys. We need your help. Please help us restock with new or gently used toys at this important time of year.

Most readers are familiar with Furniture Assist. We are a 501(c) 3 that accepts tax-deductible donations of new and gently used furniture, appliances and household goods (including toys, clothing and books) from individuals, groups, organizations, corporations and public and private sources. On Sundays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., we hold an “open house” distribution for pre-scheduled and pre-screened clients. At their appointments, clients come to select furnishings and other items.

Our mission is simple: “From those who have, to those who need.”

We are especially in need of toys right now. Our toy shed is almost empty. Toys, as well as other donations, can be dropped off at our location in Kenilworth on Sundays. Please see our website www.furnitureassist.com for drop off times and directions to our facility.

In addition, Westfield Allstate Agent Ron Bansky has generously offered his office, located at 519 South Ave. West, as a local drop point for toys from now until Dec. 16. Drop toys off there any time of day.

FA appreciates the generosity of individuals, community organizations, and public and private foundations in Westfield and the surrounding areas. Please consider volunteering with us. We are an all-volunteer organization and can always use more help. Please visit our website for information on donating or volunteering.
