On 10-23-12, the Byram Twp. Police Department received a call about a dispute occurring in the Quick Chek parking lot. When the officers arrived they spoke to Robert W. Stank and Lauren A. Rose, both of Byram Twp. Both individuals were intoxicated and started a dispute with other individuals in the Quick Chek parking lot over a motor vehicle accident that happened a short while beforehand. During the dispute, Rose struck two of the victims. When officers spoke to Rose, she originally gave them a false name. Rose was placed under arrest and during the process, she was found to be in possession of a smoking device. Stank was given several field sobriety tests, which he failed. Stank was then arrested and transported back to the station. Stank was charged with the following and released pending a Mandatory Byram Twp. Municipal Court date: Driving While Intoxicated and Careless Driving. Rose was charged with the following and released pending the same court date: Simple Assault, Disorderly Conduct, Possession of Under 50g of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Providing False Information to a Law Enforcement Officer and Resisting Arrest. The investigation later revealed that the victims of the incident had nothing to do with the previous motor vehicle accident.
