Diaper Drive at B’nai Jeshurun

One of the most necessary and expensive costs associated with raising a child is the cost of disposable diapers, yet government safety-net programs do not cover the cost of this necessity for young children in our most vulnerable families. The cost of diapers for a young child reach upwards of $100 per month, a stressful amount for families living on the edge.
Congregation B’nai Jeshurun will be collecting all sizes of child-sized disposable diapers through Jan. 20. Packages which have been opened will be accepted. The collected diapers will be donated to low-income families affiliated with Newark’s Ironbound Community Corporation.
Congregation B’nai Jeshurun has its roots in Newark, established there in 1848 and well remembers its connection to that community by taking on projects such as this. For information on other B’nai Jeshurun’s projects & programs to benefit the community, contact tikkunolam@tbj.org.
