What a beautiful day on Wednesday May 7th for the Deerfield Elementary School annual Strawberry Festival event! Approximately 800 visitors attended the event and enjoyed a variety of games, rides, delicious food and fabulous prizes. Everyone joined together to have a wonderful time with their friends and family on a fun and sunny afternoon to raise funds for our school.

The Deerfield PTO would like to thank event Co-chairs Simon Westfall-Kwong, Samantha Schmell, Randi Finger, Jessica Greenberg and Lauren Blackford who put in countless hours to pull off this fabulous event. Special thanks to Heidi Axelrod for organizing all of the volunteers, Elissa Goldblatt for set up, Rainbow Heinrichs, Neetu Salhotra and Jiang Li for handling the preorder and grilling area, Kim Sleeman and Rumy Sidhu who ensured all the games were in place before the festival; Laura Janay and her committee who organized wristbands and kept the tickets sales moving flawlessly; Sonia Vora and Diana Joseph for their creativity with new prizes, and Megan Josephson for collecting all those fantastic raffle baskets. We also profoundly thank our hardworking treasurers Cordelia Hong and Beth Dranoff.

The event could not have been such an enormous success without all the parents, family members and our incredible faculty who volunteered – it definitely takes a village to accomplish this amazing event! Thank you to our Deerfield families and the community for your support.  If you can, please support the other upcoming Strawberry Festivals:  Hartshorn on May 20th (rain date May 21st), Wyoming on May 28 ( rain date May 30th), South Mountain on June 3rd  (rain date June 4th) and Glenwood on June 10th ( rain date June 11th).

With much gratitude,
Lauren Hollender & Amy Talbert
Deerfield PTO Co-Presidents
