David B. Wolfe Named "Young Lawyer of the Year"

David B. Wolfe, Esq., of Skoloff & Wolfe, P.C., was named “Young Lawyer of the Year,” by the New Jersey State Bar Association’s (NJSBA) Young Lawyers Division (YLD). Mr. Wolfe will receive the award at the State Bar’s Annual Meeting in Atlantic City on Thursday, May 17, 2012.
The “Young Lawyer of the Year” is the top award given by the YLD and is presented to a lawyer under the age of 36, or in practice less than five years, whose combined personal and professional achievements merit special recognition, and who has additionally made significant community and public service contributions, has actively participated in the organized bar and has stood out in the areas of professional skill, integrity and courtesy.
Mr. Wolfe serves as a member of the Skoloff & Wolfe, P.C., real property valuation and litigation departments. He represents commercial and residential taxpayers in real property tax appeals. He has been featured or quoted in a wide variety of local and national publications, including The Star-Ledger, Forbes.com, Marketwatch.com, GlobeSt.com, NJBIZ, The Washington Post, WSJ.com, Law.com, New York Law Journal, and New Jersey Law Journal.
Mr. Wolfe served as the Chair of the ABA’s Young Lawyer Division, the ABA’s largest Division with more than 150,000 members. He was the first New Jersey young lawyer to serve as the Chair of the ABA YLD. A Life-Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, Mr. Wolfe serves on the Board of the American Bar Foundation. He also serves on the ABA Nominating Committee, in the ABA House of Delegates, and on the ABA Standing Committee on Membership. He has also served as the co-Chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association Membership Committee since 2009.
Mr. Wolfe was appointed by the Supreme Court of New Jersey to serve as a member of its Committee on the Tax Court, and has served as the co-Chair of the Real Property Tax Practice and Procedure Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association since 2004. He is a frequent lecturer on the subject of real property tax appeals, and has lectured repeatedly on that subject for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education and the Appraisal Institute. Mr. Wolfe has twice been selected by Real Estate New Jersey as one of New Jersey’s “Most Prominent Real Estate Attorneys.” In 2008, he was selected as one of the “40-Under-Forty” top business leaders in New Jersey by NJ BIZ, a leading New Jersey business publication.
Mr. Wolfe received his J.D. from New York University School of Law and graduated from Cornell University, with distinction in all subjects.
