Currie's Candidacy Criticized

When Putin sent in troops to Crimea, he took pride in taking over part of the Ukraine, without firing one shot, and now John Currie, Passaic County Chairman, is about to do the same thing with Paterson, without casting one vote.  Patersonians are about to head to the polls on May 13th to vote for new city council members and a new mayor.  The difference in this race versus the last three mayoral races is the overwhelming presence of county employees, staff, contractors and personnel, paid for by your tax dollars, working for one candidate who is being called Currie’s Candidate.

Those who know the true politics of Paterson and Passaic County understand that John Currie’s involvement has nothing to do with the concerns of Patersonians', such as crime, taxes, infrastructure, investment etc. it does however have everything to do with control.  In order to avoid anyone running against his next choice for Congress, John Currie is putting thousands of dollars and hundreds of volunteers on the ground, to hand Paterson to his candidate, including the $100,000 salary and perks that come with the job.  He is also supporting council candidates that will in turn keep tabs on his new mayor, just in case the backroom deal is not honored.  In any case, Patersonians', especially those in the African American neighborhoods are being promised everything for their vote.  Currie’s Candidate cannot win without the black vote, so look for an army to descend into specific Wards in Paterson on May 13th.
