WESTFIELD, NJ—Women came to Downtown Westfield from 148 towns October 18 to enjoy the immensely popular semi-annual Girls’ Night Out in Westfield presented by Downtown Westfield Corporation. About 1,600 ladies pre-registered for the event before registration was cut off the night before.

At 151 E. Broad Street, the first 1,000 registrants received goodie bags with giveaways from Savory Spice Shop and coupons for two free breakfast entrees at Turning Point. In the same space, additional sponsors Westfield Imaging, Barnabas Health and The Vein Center offered special giveaways, Lord & Taylor hosted a beauty bar and intimate apparel event and current and soon-to-open local businesses offered their own drawings and giveaways.

Just outside the door, jazz band Watson entertained shoppers on what turned out to be a beautiful night to stroll and dine outdoors.

“It’s busy. There are a lot of excited people for our store and all of the stores going up,” noted Rob Maistickle, owner of the soon-to-open Get in Shape for Women.

On every street, shoppers lined up for discounts. Restaurants were packed with happy patrons. Friends roamed together, laughing and taking advantage of the beautiful night and the chance for bargains on everything from interior design at Ella Allure to shoes to frozen yogurt.

In all, over 85 businesses offered sales and discounts, refreshments, entertainment and freebies that evening.
