Credibility through Video Marketing

Small businesses are struggling in this country, this is a fact. I decided a while ago that I would either struggle longer or be smart and embrace online marketing for my company www.a-1basements.com . I also realize that part of any web site and online presence needs to embrace social media. So we developed our presence on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest, and a blog. I accidentally learned about the value of video and its effectiveness during a hidden camera sting that I was unknowingly involved in by the Producers of The Today Show. It just goes to show you that honesty is the best policy in life and business. When I go to a sales call I often get comments like “Doug I feel like I already know you from watching your videos.” These are powerful comments and very validating to my social media efforts. I know a lot of contractors think that the marketing for their business leads is via word of mouth and print ads. I know from my experience that those venues are not enough in today’s small business. It is difficult to break out of comfort zones but the rewards are priceless. It can mean the difference between excelling and extinction in a tough landscape. Educational web sites like www.socialmediatoday.com are a great learning tool and like anything in life. The information and education is free you just have to let go of the fear and take baby steps to empower yourself. You don’t need to hire a video production company, in fact video on your smart phone is just as credible today. Let people get a sense of the real you, don’t worry about saying everything perfectly.
