WESTFIELD, NJ—A coyote was sighted running from the Wilson Elementary School playground area toward Jefferson Avenue just before 8 a.m. on Feb. 20, according to an email sent out to parents yesterday. 

The email, sent by school secretary Trish Cheek, said that police and crossing guards have been alerted. It asked that parents please be alert when sending children to school and to tell children to be vigilant and to stay away from any dog-type animals.
