Monday, December 19, 2011 • 11:58am

Recently Temple B’nai Abraham’s Teen TIkkun Olam students organized their second annual Couture for Crohn’s Fashion Show, and raised substantial funds for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America, New Jersey Chapter.

More than 20 teen models showcased clothing from local stores, including 580 South, Coleman’s Tuxedos, Kids at Heart, Infinity, The House, Precious Cargo, Jacqueline’s, Complements Two, and Willow Street, to the music of Beat That Beat Entertainment. Guests enjoyed food donations as well as more than 90 raffle items to stores and restaurants in the local community.

“The Couture for Crohn’s Fashion Show was a great success! We were able to spread awareness and reached our goal of almost $4,500. I’m looking forward to participating in the show next year. Thanks to everyone for your donations,” commented high school sophomore and TTO fashion show participant Emma Silberman.

Crohn’s & Colitis is a disease that has affected past TTO students as well as close family members. There is no cure for Crohn’s or colitis and all the money raised from this event is going to new research and treatment methods.  For more information or to make a donation, please contact TBA high school director Claudia Minde at cminde@tbanj.org.
