Councilman Victor Cirilo and Director of Special Services Connie Salimbeno Named to Family Connections Board of Trustees

WEST ORANGE, NJ - Councilman Victor Cirilo and Director of Special Services for the West Orange School District, Connie Salimbeno, have been elected to the Board of Trustees for FAMILY Connections in East Orange.
FAMILY Connections is a non-profit counseling and family service agency providing over 30 specialized programs for infants, children, teens, adults and seniors. They provide therapeutic services to reduce child abuse, drug abuse, gang involvement, and crime. Additionally, they assist individuals with social and coping skills; help students become successful in school; and provide tools for employability. Their services also work to heal emotional pain and provide family counseling.
Councilman Cirilo is also the Executive Director of the Housing Authority of Passaic, an agency which manages 700 subsidized housing units and assists over 1500 families with rental subsidies in the private rental market. He oversees a $28 million budget and a staff of 60 employees.
Cirilo has also served as a Chairman and Trustee of the West Orange Public Library and the West Orange Valley Neighborhood Revitalization Committee. He worked as a Field Director for Senator Robert Menendez’s Senatorial Campaign and was Chief of Staff to NJ State Assemblyman John McKeon.
Salimbeno is the Director of Special Services for the West Orange Public School District. She is responsible for a department of over 200 staff members including Special Education teachers, Child Study Teams, nurses, Instructional Assistants, administrative staff and related service providers. She has a 20 year background working in special education, both as a teacher and administrator.
