I work hard to be accessible and responsive as a member of the Westfield Town Council representing the Fourth Ward. I pledge to continue these efforts during my second term.
Last year our town suffered extensive damage from Superstorm Sandy. In the absence of electricity, we relied upon smart phones for communication and sharing information. During Sandy, I communicated with hundreds of residents on my twitter account @KeithLoughlin
and through email at email@example.com
. Together, we shared details of power outages and encouraging news of power restoration with the town’s twitter feed @TownOfWestfield
I also use email and twitter to communicate with residents on issues ranging from stopping the 150 foot Armory cell tower in our residential neighborhood to expanding the high school parking lot. In addition, I respond to numerous pothole requests with the help of email and twitter.
Although technology has improved the speed of communication, there is no substitute for personal interaction. To accomplish this, I walk our neighborhoods every year and knock on your doors to hear your thoughts for improving our great town. The ideas you have shared with me, including direct train service to NYC during peak hours, paving more roads, keeping your property values secure, and keeping Westfield great are the issues I will focus on during my second term.
As always, please contact me if there something you would like me to work on. Please visit my website at keithloughlin.com
