The Social Action Committee of Congregation Beth Israel in Scotch Plains organized a family apple-picking excursion on Sunday, September 30, to Melick's Cider Mill in Oldwick, NJ. Volunteers picked apples to be donated to homebound elderly through the Kosher Meals on Wheels program of Jewish Family Service of Central NJ. Participants also decorated bags to be filled with apples and honey sticks and made greeting cards for the elderly recipients.
