WARREN, N J - Quaid Mobus, a 2010 graduate of Watchung Hills Regional High School, was in an ATV accident on Friday, September 20. Mobus was four wheeling the day before his sister's wedding in the back country of Pennsylvania when he lost control of his vehicle. He sustained a spinal cord injury and was taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philladelphia.

Quaid is working hard to recover. On Sunday, October 13, Mobus was able to breathe without the use of a ventilator for three hours. He has begun physical and occupational therapy and is able to fully communicate with family and friends who come to visit every day. Through it all, Quaid is maintaining a strong sense of self and hearty sense of humor. His mother, Cindy Mobus, attributes Quaid’s progress to the grace of God and the steadfast support her family has received. “We are so grateful for all the prayers, visits, cards and gifts. Our community has been awesome.” Cindy Mobus

Support is also evidenced by several fundraising efforts that are underway.
Monetary donations are being collected via http://Www.igg.me/at/supportquaid.com.

Additionally, Trattoria Bolu, located at 25 Mountainview Blvd. in Basking Ridge is donating $4.00 for every purchase of the Quaid Mobus apple dessert.

On November 8, musical group 3Stones is performing at the Watchung Arts Center and donating ticket sales.

And, support bracelets are available for purchase at Sports Minded Unlimited located at 1656 Washington Valley Rd in Warren.

All proceeds will go toward medical bills, the purchase of a specialized wheelchair, a vehicle capable of transporting his wheelchair and renovations to make the Mobus home handicap accessible. “When Quaid returns, I want our house ready for him. He should be unlimited and comfortable in his home. To everyone who is helping, thank you. We are blessed.” Cindy Mobus
