Columbia High School Fencers Earn Crown

ROCKAWAY, NJ - The Columbia High School Boys Fencing Team was crowned state champion for the third time in four years, with a 14-13 win over Watchung Hills in the NJSIAA team finals at Morris Hills on Wednesday.
Sophomore Bryn Hammarberg of Columbia went undefeated and was victorious in the deciding 26th bout.
Columbia’s Andrew Doddo, Max Gould, Dan Heffley and Matt Michaels each had two wins, contributing toward the championship.
The Girls' Fencing Team won the Bronze Medal by defeating Livingston, 15-12. The girls were led by Alexis Auer, who was 3-0 in the tournament.
