Columbia Cougars Defeat Nutley 28-19

The Columbia Cougars won their second straight game on Friday night, defeating Nutley 28-19 thanks to a 74-yard touchdown pass to Sydney Scruggs.

The Cougars improve to 4-3 while Nutley drops to 2-6.

Scruggs, a senior wide receiver, had four receptions for 116 yards and two touchdowns in the game. Senior Manny Grant, the team’s leading receiver, had four catches for 75 yards.

Senior quarterback Deion Hudson had one of his best performances of the season, going 10-for-20 with 205 passing yards and two touchdowns.

In the running game, senior Kenneth Antwi picked up where he left off last week by rushing 101 yards on 20 attempts. He also scored two touchdowns.

The Cougars are back in action next Saturday, when they take on undefeated Montclair on the road. Game time is set for 1 p.m. in Montclair.
