For Maxine and Bernie Lang, their new home at 50 Parmley at Summit Place in Summit, NJ, has become a “whole new way to live” which they thoroughly love. According to Coldwell Banker New Homes, one of the nation’s largest residential brokerage firms, the couple recently sold their multi-level, turn-of-the-century colonial home in Westfield and purchased one of the two-bedroom, one level condominium residences at 50 Parmley at Summit Place and admit, “we have discovered a wonderful new lifestyle and home.”

Mr. Lang explains, “We have always loved the Summit downtown, walk to everything ambiance with its boutique shops, restaurants and businesses. We would frequent them often along with the Short Hills Mall which is just minutes away. We watched the framing of this building going up and in the back of our minds we thought, ‘What if?’ So when friends who were purchasing here told us to take a closer look, we did. We already knew we were ready to downsize and would love the lifestyle of living in downtown Summit with its close proximity to everything, including NYC. When we previewed the apartment’s spaciousness, the designs, the features and everything about the collection, we fell in love. Now, every time we walk into our home either from work or from a wonderful strolling adventure downtown, we feel so happy. It’s amazing. We just can’t wait to get home.”

By the talents of MarkBuilt Homes, an award winning home builder with decades of experience in the creation of luxury new homes throughout the state, 50 Parmley at Summit Place is a collection of luxurious one-level one- and two-bedroom condominium residences created for those who, like the Langs, are ready to move from a larger estate home into a maintenance free environment without giving up any of the luxuries.

The Langs chose a two-bedroom model with den on an upper level with terrace. “We just love the layout,” notes Mrs. Lang. “It is an open floor plan with high ceilings, and yet, it has such a warm inviting feel to it. Since I love to cook, the kitchen design is the ideal chef’s triangle with my stove, counter and refrigerator all perfectly aligned.” Mrs. Lang also points out that she loves the microwave under the cabinet for convenience.

Mr. Lang further explains, “We have room for everything. Since I’m a musician in my spare time, we have turned the den into our hobby / music room, while the second bedroom is my wife’s home office and guest suite for when our son comes to visit from Florida.”

One of the most unique features of the Lang’s apartment is the finishes in the home. “We loved the fact that MarkBuilt created pre-set, designer selection packages with everything included,” exclaims Mrs. Lang. “Other new home communities make you pay for every option and upgrade, but here, it was all included. It made the whole process of designing our interior space so much easier and stylish since everything coordinated beautifully. We choose a transitional style with deep dark woods, glass doors with lighting and neutral tile. It’s so rich, we just love it.”

While Mr. Lang enjoys relaxing out on their terrace with an open view, Mrs. Lang admits the walk-in closet in the master bedroom suite is “awesome.” She explains, “I can see everything and find everything so easily.”

Other features found in the Lang’s condominium and all homes at Summit Place include 10-foot and soffit ceilings; decorative crown molding; traditional, contemporary and transitional selection packages; hardwood floors with herringbone inlay in the foyer; Kohler fixtures; KitchenAid Architect Series appliances; Pella windows; Whirlpool Duet front loading washer and dryer; stylish lighting including mood-setting rope lighting in the foyer and master bedroom; video doorman for 24-hour, seven days a week monitoring; and two covered parking spaces within the building with elevator service to all levels.
