City of Summit OEM Reminds Residents How Best to Stay Informed

SUMMIT, NJ - The City of Summit Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is reminding residents that there are several ways to ensure that they receive general and emergency communications information accurately and expeditiously, including:
Sign-up for Code Red Messages
The CodeRED system is the City’s official emergency notification system. It is used to send critical communications from evacuation notices to missing child alerts.
Go to http://cityofsummit.org and click on the CodeRED button at the bottom, right side of the homepage. Receive alerts on multiple phone numbers, by text and/or email addresses.
Sign-up for Nixle Alerts
With nixle, you are able to sign-up to receive information by text or email ranging from critical alerts to community news from the Summit Police Department. Go to http://cityofsummit.org and click on the nixle button at the bottom, right side of the homepage to register. There is no cost for this service but message and data charges do apply.

Check http://cityofsummit.org regularly for updates and news. The City posts both general and emergency information on its homepage, including City meetings and events.
Follow the City Using Social Media
Follow the City of Summit on facebook (CityofSummit) and twitter (CityofSummitNJ). Postings are daily and include both emergency and non- emergency information ranging from road closures to community events.
