PATERSON, NJ - The City Council last week approved a $27,360 emergency contract for repairs to a wall at the pool at the Riverside Veterans Center.

The wall was damaged during Superstorm Sandy and had to be repaired immediately to keep people from getting into the empty pool, Public Works Director Christopher Coke told the council. Coke said the city faced substantial potential liability if someone were hurt in the pool area. In fact, he told the council, the city posted around-the-clock security at the site until the wall was repaired.

The work by Anthony Natoli Masonry Contractor of Clifton.
