Freshly picked pine
Jingles on jangles
Candy cane cookies
Eager expectations
Christmas we cheer

Residents rudely rushing
Horns harshly honking 
Lingering last in line
Dollars draining deftly
Christmas we jeer

Tender hands holding
Angelic caroling choirs
Savoring scrumptious sweets
Hope in a homily
Christmas is near

Hapless, helpless and needy
Wishing and wanting for more
Lost and lonely people
Void and vacant chairs
Christmas we fear

Warm family faces
Their presence being presents
A feast of food plenty
Greatly grateful for all we share
Christmas is here
