SUCCASUNNA, NJ - Darius Khani, Chris Boler and Michael Rohe all registered pins to rally the Chatham Wrestling Club past Roxbury, 52-50, on Feb. 20 at the Eisenhower Middle School.

Roxbury moved to a 9-0 early lead before Khani (60 lbs) narrowed the score with a second-period pin. This was followed by a pivotal third-period pin from Boler (65 lbs). Boler trailed by points before he pulled it out with the fall.

John Rohe then lost a hard fought battle at 70 against one of Roxbury's top wrestlers. This loss was avenged by brother Michael Rohe (75), who pinned his opponent in the second period. Following another hard fought loss at 80 by Aedan Joel, Chatham got consecutive pins from Connor Cortese (85 lbs) and Willie Oneill (90 lbs), each of whom went up a weight class and took on heavier opponents.

Cyrus Khani (96 lbs) then dominated his opponent for three periods, finally beating him, 10-0. Following a loss at 102, Jacob Mahon (109 lbs) pinned his opponent at the buzzer of the third period. As the score indicates, this too was a pivotal moment in the match. Had Jacob not pinned his opponent, the match would have ended  in a 50-50 tie.

Drew Mitzak (116 lbs) got a forfeit at his weight class and Chatham forfeited at 123. Mitzak then went up a weight class and pinned Roxbury's 123-pounder in an exhiition match. Niccolo Colucci (130lbs) had the same result, only the forfeit to him sealed the match for Chatham.

After getting his hand raised before a stunned Roxbury crowd in disbelief, Niccolo went up a weight class to wrestle Roxbury's 137-pounder, who Chatham forfeited to. Colucci went on to pin his heavier opponent in the second period. Dean Ciccarelli (102 lbs) and Jeramie Pollard (137 lbs) also wrestled well in their respective matches for Chatham.
