Chatham Spring Clean 2013

The Town & Country Garden Club of Chatham is fostering a town wide beautification day “Spring Clean 13” inviting community volunteers to make Chatham beautiful. It is the Garden Club’s desire, with this first time event, to enhance community pride, volunteerism, education, and hopefully have the event continue yearly.
‘’The Mayor & Council thanked Mary Keselica, Florence Becker, and Virginia Hofler for starting this worthwhile program, involving local businesses, for partnering with Borough’s Department of Public Works, and for developing a true community spirit. All are invited to join in this community initiative, said Council Member Vicki Fife.
“Working side by side with volunteers, and continuing beautification projects, are just a few tasks that Chatham Department of Public Works employees do best,” noted Bobby Venezia Director of Public Works. The Department of Public Works is responsible for all public land services, and the spring season is the busiest time of preparing for the outdoors.
“Spring Clean 13”, April 20, 2013 from 8 am to 1 pm is focusing on beautifying the downtown business district. Volunteers will be asked to give of their time and energy, bring your gloves and gardening tools! The first 200 volunteers will receive a FREE event t-shirt designed by a Chatham student grades 4 through 8. Volunteers can offer their support and help by contacting Janice Piccolo at Borough Hall, 973-635-0674 x 200 or jpiccolo@chathamborough.
This grassroot effort will be funded through public donations from residents, local businesses, and friends of the community. Ask about our T-shirt contest, sponsorship, or other support.
