On Aug. 26, three individuals were arrested and charged with a variety of narcotics offenses by Detective Daniel Walsh after a month-long investigation.

In July, Walsh received information that drugs were being sold from a residence on Parrott Mill Road. Surveillance was conducted on the house and enough evidence was obtained to secure a search warrant. The warrant was executed, three men were arrested and a quantity of narcotics was recovered.

Weismantel posted $2500 bail and was released.

Brett L Huelsenbeck, age 20 of Chatham, who is charged with: Possession of under 50 grams of Marijuana. He was processed and released on a summons.

Recovered from the scene were 110 Oxycodone tablets, a small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia. Also assisting with the investigation was the Morris County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit.

On Aug. 26 at 4:41 p.m., patrols responded to North Passaic Avenue and Weston Avenue on a report of a skateboarder struck by a car.

An investigation conducted by Lt. Brian Gibbons revealed that a 17-year-old male from Chatham was riding his skateboard on Weston Avenue when he was struck by a car traveling south on North Passaic Avenue. Witnesses reported that the youth did not stop at the stop sign and jumped off the skateboard, landing directly in front of the car and was struck.

The car was driven by Yonglian Li, age 62 of North Plainfield. The youth was not wearing a helmet and suffered a head injury. He was transported to Morristown Medical Center for treatment by the Chatham Emergency Squad. There is no indication that the speed of the car was a factor and no summonses were issued.

Report prepared by Det. Lt. Kevin O'Shea (Retired) of the Chatham Borough Police Department
