Chatham Police Arrest 20-Year-Old Resident for Lewd Act

Chatham Township Police responded to the Hickory Square Shopping Center on Feb. 8 on a report of a lewd act that occurred in the parking lot. The victim, a 79-year-old Madison resident, reported that she observed a young male sitting in a vehicle parked next to hers, with his pants down, exposing himself. Officers were able to obtain enough information to identify a suspect, who had left the scene prior to their arrival.
On Feb. 10, Detective Christopher Slayton interviewed and subsequently charged Patrick Murray, 20, of Chatham with committing the lewd act. He was processed and released on his own recognizance pending a municipal court appearance.
