Chatham Historical Society's Antiques Roadshow Event with John Nye

The Chatham Historical Society is proudly hosting a major fundraiser starring John Nye, of Nye and Company and a specialist on PBS’s Antiques Roadshow. On Thursday, April 3, guests will gather at the Morris County Golf Club.

The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with a reception, including drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and a silent auction.  The roadshow event will begin at 7:20 p.m.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will support the Chatham Historical Society’s current collection of photographs, documents and artifacts and will help to better preserve and share these precious items with future generations. In addition, the Society hopes to add an additional $1,000 scholarship awarded annually to a graduating Chatham High school senior.  Tickets can only be purchased in advance are are $100 per person.  A limited number of items for appraisal will be offered for an additional fee of $25 per item.

John Nye, President of Nye & Company, a regional auction house that appraises and sells quality antiques, heirlooms and collections, is also seen regularly on PBS’s Antique Roadshow.  While many types of items are eligible at this even to receive an appraisal, there are a few objects that cannot be evaluated. Those include wine, coins, stamps, guns, swords, sporting memorabilia, collectibles, or Pre-Columbian/Tribal artifacts.

Chatham Historical Society president is Susan Allen and Helen Ann Rosenfeld is the vice president.
