On October 4 at 7:23 AM Patrolman Roy George investigated a crash on Fairmount Avenue at the New Jersey Transit overpass. A 2010 International truck driven by Angel Escalera age 39 of Lake Grove NY was travelling south on Fairmount Avenue when cargo on his truck struck the bridge. Escalera was issued a summons for Careless Driving and released after cleaning up the debris.
On October 2 at 12:02 AM, Patrolman Wayne Shivers arrested Peter Garrison on Weston Avenue. Shivers observed him walking and was aware of 2 active warrants out of the Madison Joint Municipal Court. He was processed at headquarters and released after a friend posted the $250 bail.
On October 5 at 10:41 AM Patrolman Andrew Pereira responded to Post Office Plaza on a report that a garbage truck lost its load. A truck owned by N Tassielli Disposal of Rockaway accidentally discharged the load of garbage into the street blocking the roadway. The driver, Jerry McMickle Sr. of Rockaway, told Pereira that he accidentally activated the control that dumps the garbage. McMickle was issued a summons for Obstructing Traffic and the debris was cleaned up by a private company hired by Tassielli.
All persons charged with an offense are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
