Chatham Borough Police Arrest Glen Rock Man for Theft

On January 17 Detective Walsh charged William Mirrer Jr age 54 of Glen Rock with theft. Mirrer was charged with the theft of $200 in cash from a wallet while he was at a medical facility on Main Street. The theft occurred in December and Mirrer was charged after a brief investigation. He was released on a summons pending further court action.

On January 23 at 7:40 AM Patrolman Kelly investigated a motor vehicle crash on Lafayette Avenue involving a school bus. A 1998 Mazda driven by Philip Smith age 68 of Bricktown was slowing for traffic and was struck from behind by a school bus. The bus was driven by Maria Brito age 52 of Bayonne. The school bus had one child on board. There was only minor damage to the bus, no one was injured, and no summonses were issued.

On January 25 at 5:49 AM Patrolman Maher investigated a motor vehicle crash on Main Street at Fairmount Avenue. A 1997 Nissan driven by Myrlene Previlon age 35 of Union, was waiting to turn left on to Fairmount Avenue when she was struck from behind. The second car was a 1986 Toyota driven by Yoda Chek age 46 of Bayonne. There were no injuries, both vehicles were towed from the scene by Bauer Automotive and Chek was issued a summons for Careless Driving.
