Wednesday, July 16, 2014 • 9:50pm

CHATHAM, NJ - What’s the best reason not to cook on Saturdays? The Chatham Borough Farmers’ Market offers more than Jersey Fresh produce. Our vendors will tempt your taste buds with everything for an easy weekend meal.

Savory pies, authentic Mexican foods such as quesadillas and tostadas, soups, ravioli, fresh guacamole and salsas, stuffed breads, artisan cheeses, ready-made sandwiches, quiche, straight from the wood fired oven pizzas, and more. Quench your thirst with fresh squeezed lemonade, refreshing hibiscus water or one of the juiced veggie and fruit combinations. In the mood for something more grown up and sophisticated? We even offer New Jersey wines. For dessert, why not finish off your meal with one of our many fruit pie options.

Do you enjoy preparing your own meals? While shopping for your weekly produce and flowers, all sourced from New Jersey farmers, why not grab something for the grill? The Market offers chicken, beef, pork, lamb, turkey and a variety of sausages all perfect for a summer barbecue. A variety of mushrooms are available, covering a wide range of culinary needs. Add some to our fresh egg selection and whip up a delicious omelette.

Come for the food, linger for the wonderful sense of community and the occasional musical entertainment. Welcoming locals and visitors alike, the Market is open rain or shine, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. through Nov. 22 in the Fairmount Avenue train station parking lot. Parking is free.
