MORRISTOWN, NJ -  Nick Vivona's blocked kick in overtime clinched the Chatham Seventh-Graders' 16-14 overtime victory over Belleville in the first round of the NJ Suburban Youth Football League playoffs on Sunday at Morristown High.

Each team gets a possession in overtime and Chatham scored on a three-yard rush by Colin Hart, followed by Zach Hoban's two-point conversion kick for a 16-8 lead. Belleville scored on a quarterback sneak from the one to make it 16-14 before Vivona made his block to end it.

“Our team played well on both sides of the ball," Chatham head coach Chris Agnew said.  "Our guys played tough and never gave up.”

Chatham will play the winner of the Staten Island-Westfield game next Sunday at a time and place to be determined.

In regulation, Chatham took a 2-0 lead when it tackled the Belleville quarterback for a safety in the second quarter. Josh Smith's one-yard TD run pushed the Cougars' advantage to 8-0 before halftime. In the fourth quarter, Belleville scored on a 95-yard punt return and converted the kick to make it 8-8 and force overtime.
