SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - This was a game that according to the seedings, the Chargers of Spotswood High School were not supposed to win. Tell that to South Brunswick.

The Vikings had absolutely no answer for Jake Dadika, who scored 28 points, including 11 in the decisive 17-5 fourth quarter, as the Chargers defeated South Brunswick, 56-53, in the first round of the Greater Middlesex Conference Tournament Thursday night in South Brunswick.

Dadika, who has simply carried the Chargers throughout the season, kept going to the foul line throughout the fourth quarter and ended up sinking seven out of his eight free throw attempts, as the Chargers clearly won this game with their foul shooting, with a 10-0 advantage from the line in the game. Marlon Hart added 13 and Matt Ciaccio had 11 to help aid Spotswood to its 11th consecutive victory.

The victory streak will face its toughest test this Sunday at Middlesex Community College at 1:30 p.m. in what will clearly be the most eagerly anticipated matchup of the season, when the Chargers, seeded 10th in the tournament, get the chance to face their next-door neighbors, the second-seeded Bears of East Brunswick High School.
