The PATERSON, NJ - The Greater Paterson Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Leadership Paterson (Leadership Paterson) met recently at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center to discuss healthcare in Paterson and the positive impact St. Joseph’s Healthcare System has on the community.

Leadership Paterson is formed by volunteers and representatives sent by employers for a year-long course that examines the community as well as the future of Paterson. The group discussed the expansion of St. Joseph’s and the growth in the economic community as well as the mission of St. Joseph’s and how it accommodates residents of Paterson seeking charity care. After the discussion the group took a tour of the Emergency Department in the new Critical Care Tower, which includes the Geriatric Emergency Department.

Other Leadership Paterson seminars focus on education, urban housing, the history of Paterson, and economic development throughout the year. Sheri Ferreira, Associate Director, Greater Paterson Chamber of Commerce says, “Participants really do get a nice feel and snapshot of the City. It really does help them do their jobs better.”
