Cerebral Palsy of North Jersey Sends Volunteers to Food Pantry

When Kristina Olszewski from United Cerebral Palsy of North Jersey contacted the Holy Trinity-West Orange Food Pantry about volunteer opportunities for her clients, it was a perfect match. Since the summer of 2011, clients of the program, ranging in age from teen through adult, come in a few times a month with their aides to volunteer at the food pantry. The staff generally has the group break down bulk packages of sugar, coffee, tea, rice, pet food, or anything else that can be sorted into baggies for distribution. With 300-500 receiving food from the HTWO food pantry each month, there is always something for them to do!
In July, Chris Stratton of CPNJ came to the food pantry and took some photos of the volunteers to highlight on the UCPNJ website and facebook page. They are always excited to come and help in any way they can, and the food pantry loves having them. It is hoped that the volunteers will continue to assist the food pantry, as well as the Thrift Shop at Holy Trinity, on an ongoing basis.
