Cellist Seidenberg Featured Soloist at Summit Symphony Concert Mar. 16

SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit Symphony Orchestra will present its next concert of  the season March 16 , featuring music by Mozart, Dvorak and Tchaikovsky.  The featured soloist for this performance will be cellist Peter Seidenberg.  The concert, beginning at 3 p.m., will be held at Summit High School and admission is free,

Under the direction of interim conductor Karen Pinoci, the Summit Symphony Orchestra will perform the Overture to Magic Flute by Mozart, Concerto for Cello by Dvorak, and Symphony No. 5 by Tchaikovsky.
 
Peter Seidenberg made his solo debut with the Chicago Symphony, and has since appeared as soloist with many orchestras including Century Orchestra of Osaka, New American Chamber Orchestra, De Paul Chamber Orchestra, New York Chamber Soloists, and the Eastman-Rochester Philharmonic.   He served as principal cellist with the Century Orchestra of Osaka for four years.  Seidenberg was a founding member of the critically-acclaimed Elements Quartet, which created groundbreaking commissioning projects involving over 30 composers.
 
Seidenberg began his studies at the age of six, with Nell Novak, of the Music Center of the North Shore, in Winnetka, IL.  He later received a Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music and a Master’s degree from the New England Conservatory, graduating from both schools with the highest honors.  During the course of his study, he was awarded the prestigious Eastman School of Music Performer’s Certificate, as well as the Cleveland Institute of Music’s Artist Diploma.  His principal teachers have included Paul Katz, Bernard Greenhouse, and Alan Harris.
 
Currently, Peter Seidenberg is the cellist for the Oracle Trio, the Queen’s Chamber Band, and the New York Chamber Soloists.
