Celebrity Chef Diane Henderiks Offers Private or Event "Taste & Technique" Evenings

On Friday, October 19, 2012 Celebrity Chef Diane Henderiks, nationally renowned Personal Chef and Culinary Nutritionist, provided a Fat, Sugar and Salt educational session to her guests followed by a cooking demonstration and tasting.
Chef Diane offered various samples of cooking salts from organic to pink sea salts; plus various healthy sugars including dates, honey, coconut water, raw sugars, and guava juice; to pump spray-on olive oils for just the right amount of fat and seasoning to flavor her dish.
She began the tasting with a crowd favorite – an Avocado & Edamame Hummus served with Crudité and Baked Pita Chips. I’ve never had such a tasty, citrus blend of yummy hummus!
The next course was a Spiced Autumn Acorn Squash Soup – we all topped ours with Chef Diane’s new spice line to add a little kick, and sampled Fresh-Roasted Acorn Seeds which had an aroma like fresh popcorn!
The third course was a very light-based Sensational Caesar Salad, no egg or olive oil, just the right amount of lemon, Greek yogurt and parmesan cheese plus a few more secrets.
The main course was truly a surprise to all, Diane’s Penne Alla Vodka in a Flash, pepper-infused penne vodka! The pepper corns were infused in Ketel One Vodka for a few hours and it no longer tasted like distilled vodka, rather an herbal creation which richly complimented her fresh herb-based red sauce over whole wheat penne pasta. Delicious!
Lastly, she served mini scoops of Vanilla Frozen Yogurt; pre-frozen scoops were rolled in minced nuts and served with Warm Fresh Citrus Compote.
Each dish offered technique from learning how to properly pit an avocado, or slice romaine lettuce, mince an onion with Diane’s specialty Chef Blades, to proper seasoning with her new line of spices, topped with a dash of Diane’s humor added fun to the evening cooking experience. It was a night of Taste & Technique, and this kitchen was fully stocked, and is available for private or general cooking sessions.
