SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit High School Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team celebrated their seniors after the game, and dominated West Morris Central during it, getting four goals from Isabel Zachara, a Hat Trick from Julia Persche, and seven assists from Maggie Moriarty in a 17-5 victory.

Now 12-1, Summit raced to a 6-0 lead on the Upper High School Turf Field before West Morris got on the scoreboard with just over nine minutes remaining in the first half.  Fittingly, the first two goals were from seniors Madeleine Gramigna and Meaghan Celmer, before Persche, Samantha Forsyth, and a pair of scores from Zachara gave the Hilltoppers a flying start.

Ahead 7-1 after goal by Sara Szynal, Summit relaxed a bit and surrendered two goals, before Catherine Cordrey scored to make it 8-3 at the half.

Just as they did to start the game, Summit reeled off six consecutive goals to open the second half.  Szynal, Cordrey's second, Persche's second, Emily Kalin, Callie Humphrey, and Zachara's Hat Trick goal made it 14-3.

After two goals from West Morris, Olivia Kelly scored, followed by Persche's Hat Trick tally, and Zachara's fourth to complete the rout.

Moriarty was the catalyst on many of the goals, her perfect feeds finding Hilltoppers cutting to the goal for point blank looks.

Senior Caroline Cranley got the start in goal, and made several nice saves before giving way to Kady Glynn with about five minutes left in the game.  Summit Head Coach Mike Walsh brought all of his seniors out of the game, with each getting loud applause from the home fans.

"We got a lot of kids playing time today, and they all played well.  We wanted to honor our seniors as they are not just a good group, they are a great group," said Walsh.

Summit travels to Immaculate Heart Academy April 30, before returning home May 3 to face Farmingdale at 7 p.m.
