Friday, August 8, 2014 • 11:08am

BERNARDS TOWNSHIP, NJ - The Children’s Department of the Bernards Township Library will hold a closing party to celebrate the successful summer reading program: “Fizz, Boom, READ!!” on Wednesday, Aug. 13 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

According to Ellen Stork, children’s supervising librarian, “We are thrilled at the response to our Summer Reading Club. This summer we signed up 1,130 children from preschool to grade 6. This event is to celebrate their reading accomplishments.”

The party is the outcome of cooperative planning by both the Children’s and Teen departments. “The Teen Advisory Board has been working very hard planning activities they think the kids will enjoy. There will be games, experiments, crafts, raffles and face painting too,” said Karen Olivari, teen librarian.

There is no registration for this free program. For more information contact the Children’s Library at (908) 204-3031, ext. 3. The Bernards Township Library is located at 32 S. Maple Ave. in Basking Ridge.
