Celebrate Earth Day at Reeves-Reed Arboretum

Spend Earth Day at the Arboretum! Bring the family this Sunday, April 22nd between 1:00 – 4:00 PM for an afternoon filled with activities that celebrate the Earth and all of its creatures. There will be an endangered species parade, a sustainability maze, photos in the gardens, green crafts and games and refreshments and entertainment. For the art enthusiast, make sure to stop in Wisner House to see the spring art exhibit – The Magnified Eye: Contemporary Botanical Portraiture, featuring watercolors and drawings on paper and vellum from thirteen artists around the globe.
Admission for the afternoon is $10 per person with a maximum of $25 per family. Arboretum members pay $5 per person with a $10 maximum per family. Children under 3 are free. Reeves-Reed Arboretum is located at 165 Hobart Avenue in Summit. This event is sponsored by Hilltop Community Bank.
Reeves-Reed Arboretum is the only public garden and one of the largest green spaces in the City of Summit. It is the only arboretum in Union County. The Arboretum seeks to engage, educate and enrich its visitors so they may become better stewards of nature and the environment. This mission is achieved through the care and utilization of an historic estate and gardens. Reeves-Reed Arboretum is listed on both the National and New Jersey Historic Registries.
