Catharsis: Find Your Truth Through Writing

Have you ever felt unresolved because you just couldn’t find the proper words to articulate your thoughts or do you fear meeting new people, but can’t figure out why? Maybe you can’t commit to anything and have chronic nightmares of failure. Can you imagine what’s happening to your spirit with each oppressed emotion? Maybe this will help. Stop. Breathe. Write.
To dig deep and divulge your emotions onto paper can feel like uncharted territory, but it’s a sure way to connect with your center. Writing is more than just an art for authors. We are all authors of our soul. We must use the language we have been taught to sensibly paint upon pages the feelings of the heart.
This practice will draw you closer to yourself, to God. What you reveal will help you become more spiritual and experience a sense of freedom that only your spirit can recognize. There is something very powerful about this practice. It seems as though the more you write, the more you become connected with your intuition, which is none other than your personal navigation system.
The higher vibrational frequency in the Universe is longing to hear your stories, and the act of writing is essential to connecting with that higher frequency because it opens you up to all possibilities. The world has a way of turning a soul cold until it becomes withdrawn and cautious - it’s a natural defense. But trust your inner voice. Write about what your inner voice wants you to reveal. Don’t hold back. Being transparent on paper will help you discover the sort of person you are meant to be. Your writing will become a blueprint to your destiny.
For example, let’s say it’s difficult for you to trust. You may have brushed it off, but the reality is that it’s affecting your relationships. Writing about this in your personal journal will help you discover its source. It gives you a chance to be honest with yourself and air out the things you would otherwise never admit.
If this is a new frontier for you, get into the right state of mind by practicing a short relaxation meditation. Close your eyes and focus on your breathing for five minutes as you feel your heart soften. Vulnerability is a good place to start writing.
Writing has a keen way of pulling you into the present moment – you have no choice. As you listen to your inner voice, the barrier to your heart will lift, you will become fully present and in that state of being, you will connect with God. Don’t be surprised if your writing starts to sound like a work of art because it will be written through purity of mind, body and soul.
Imagine a big ball of yarn unraveling and lengthening from end to end. Your thoughts will be untangled just as well. How therapeutic! There is something even more fascinating about this process. Not only will it help you grow, it will increase your self-awareness because through your honesty you will learn that your true capabilities are much more powerful than you could ever imagine.
Most successful and affluent people in the world keep a personal journal because they understand that the power of creating starts with the interpretation of thought energy. Clearing up emotional space through writing will allow you to garner an understanding beyond thoughts, words and the physical world. A certain “knowing” will become your “superpower.”
Writing interprets thoughts into a language that can be understood by the self. Thoughts are actually sources of emotional energy that need to be deciphered in order to discover its sacred meaning. So, go ahead. Start today. Detox.
