Summit Department of Community Programs, the Summit PAL and TryCAN are proud to be participating in Summit’s 14th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service on January 16. In keeping with day’s theme of volunteerism and service, we are thrilled to be hosting the TryCAN Kids Carnival from 2:30-4:00 pm at the Summit Community Center Gym, 100 Morris Avenue . At the carnival, children with special needs and their siblings are welcome to join us in the gym for games of chance, fun on the big slide, other noncompetitive activities, music and dance party with Summit Soundz, refreshments and other family fun. Trained volunteer teen Peer Mentors will on hand to help the children play and have a great time. The event will be fully chaperoned and staffed. RSVP at summitcan@gmail.com. If you have questions or are interested in volunteering, contact Kevin @ summitcan@gmail.com or 908-277-2932 x13. Special thanks to the Summit PAL for their financial support for this event.
TryCAN is a collaboration of the communities of Berkeley Heights, New Providence, Summit and others nearby that offer a comprehensive array of recreation programs for children with special needs or those who need special accommodation. There are no non resident fees involved and all welcome!
