Career Day At Rosa Parks School

PATERSON, NJ - Rosa L. Parks School of Fine and Performing Arts held a career day on May 25. Students had the opportunity to learn about various professions and were introduced to professionals working in 16 different fields.  Through the use of interactive workshops students were be exposed to many career choices.

Here are the workshops that were scheduled:

·       Capt. Alton Dickson of the Paterson fire department on being a firefighter.

·       Janet Frias, a talent manager for MTV/VH1 and CMT radio networks on careers in the radio industry.

·       Representatives from Fast Forward Unlimited on careers in graphic design.

·       Eleanor Rudolph, from Bragg Funeral Home, on jobs in the funeral industry.

·      Sherrica Matchett from Dover Business College on personality traits and what careers they best suited for students who are undecided about what to pursue.

        Sean Evans from Dover Business College on job interview skills.

·        Sandra Ellis, a dentist, on ossible careers in dental health.

·        Ann Goldstein, a health coach,  on ways to help others with nutrition and exercise.

·        Retiring State Superior Court Judge Joseph Falcone on careers in the court system.

·        Charles Peruffo, an environmental health and safety engineer, on ways of improving workplace safety.

·        Ray Mandal, an airbrush artist from Fast Forward Unlimited, on the use of airbrush equipment.

·        Councilman Kenneth Morris on the possibilities for a career in medical illustration.
