Caldwell College Cougar's Men's Basketball Fall to Dominican College Chargers

CALDWELL, NJ - Last night the Caldwell College Cougars Men’s Basketball Team was unable to pull off a victory against the Dominican College Chargers. The clash ended with a tough final score of 83-68, Chargers.
From the onset, the game was tight, but with 5:20 left in the first half, the Chargers had a 30-23 lead. The Cougars ended the final minutes before the half, however, with a 39-37 lead.
Cougar’s Billy McDonald scored eight points before the half, including a three-pointer and a conventional three-point play. Dawan Lighty led Caldwell with 11 points in the half, while Khaleev Ginyard scored 12 points for the Chargers.
Over the first five minutes of the second half, Dominican took control to lead the game 50-41. With 8:27 remaining, A.J. Burton, sophomore guard from New Rochelle, NY, who is studying Athletic Training, scored a three-pointer for the Chargers bringing their lead to 67-50. The Cougars never regained their lead, and the game ultimately ended 83-68, Chargers.

The game was played in the George R. Newman Center. The loss of this Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game to Dominican College caused the Cougars to fall to 6-14 overall and 2-9 in the conference, while the Chargers improved to 17-3, 11-1 CACC.
On Saturday, beginning at 3pm, Caldwell hosts the Philadelphia University of the Sciences in the Newman Center.
