Caldwell College Cougar Men’s Basketball Trounces Nyack College

CALDWELL, NJ - Last night at the George R. Newman Center, Caldwell College Cougars Men’s Basketball Team scored a 78-64 victory over the Nyack College Warriors.
Early on in the game, the Cougars took control with a 15-2 run that put them ahead, 29-12 with 6:47 on the clock. Kevin Walker and Dawan Lighty, a freshman guard from Paterson, studying Business Administration, both hit three-pointers to spark the run. The lead grew to as many as 24 points before the Cougars took a 42-21 advantage at the half.

But in the second half, in the first three minutes and 21 seconds, the Warriors scored five three-pointers. The score however remained in Caldwell’s favor: 52-46 Caldwell at the 13-minute mark.
With under a minute to play, the Cougars scored eight straight points, and kept their lead at 75-60, ultimately soundly defeating the New York team, 78-64.

With this viictory, the Cougars have improved to 6-12 overall and 2-7 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC). The Warriors are now 3-14, 1-9 CACC.
