“It is a new day and thrilling for all of us, especially for everyone who worked on the rigorous process to get us to this point," said President Dr. Nancy Blattner on the name change from Caldwell College to University, and all that goes with it.
Though the school was officially granted University status by the New Jersey secretary of higher education on Dec. 9, 2013, it chose to wait until July 1st to change the name in time to begin the 2014-15 fiscal year.
Dr. Blattner has already seen the benefits of the name change as, in the fall they will be “greeting our largest freshman class in our history and we will have the most students we’ve ever had living on campus.”
In addition to the influx of undergraduate students, Caldwell University presents the introduction of two new doctoral programs in educational leadership for the 2014-15 school year.
The student body and staff plan to celebrate the school’s 75th Anniversary along with all the positive changes that have transpired on Sept 19 and 20, Homecoming Weekend.
“This is certainly a defining moment in many ways for Caldwell,” said Blattner.
